1.2 Separate your documents
Completion requirements
Take one document your organization already uses to direct AI work — a brief, a prompt template, a project charter, a standing instruction.
- Go through it sentence by sentence. Mark each as CONTROLS or GUIDES.
- Split it into two documents accordingly.
- Submit both, plus a short note on any sentence you could not classify.
The sentences you cannot classify are the interesting ones. They are where drift enters.
two documents plus a 200–400 word note · about 60–90 minutes.
How you will be graded — aim for Proficient.
| 1 · Emerging | One document lightly edited. No real split. |
| 2 · Developing | Split attempted, but the two documents still overlap and both read as advisory. |
| 3 · Proficient — target | Every sentence classified CONTROLS or GUIDES. The two documents genuinely stand apart — one binding, one advisory. Sentences you could not classify are listed rather than forced into a box. |
| 4 · Exemplary | Also names the drift that the original blended document already allowed to happen. |
