2.2 Objective to directive
Completion requirements
Take three strategic objectives from your organization — real ones, in the language they are actually stated in.
Convert each into a directive carrying a target, a constraint, and a validation method.
For any you cannot convert, say why. Some objectives are not yet decisions, and noticing that is the skill.
400–600 words · about 45–60 minutes.
How you will be graded — aim for Proficient.
| 1 · Emerging | Objectives restated in slightly different words. |
| 2 · Developing | Directives written, but still missing either a target or a way to check. |
| 3 · Proficient — target | Three real objectives, quoted in the language your organization actually uses. Each directive carries a target, a constraint, and a validation method. Any you could not convert are named, with the reason. |
| 4 · Exemplary | Also identifies an objective that is not yet a decision, and says what would have to be decided first. |
